Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

This site collects only what you type into its "Get in touch" form. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and nothing collected here is sold or shared for advertising.

Who runs this site

This site is operated by Cho Cho San Japanese Restaurant, which runs Cho Cho San Thousand Oaks (400 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360) and Cho Cho San Tarzana (19010 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA 91356), and is responsible for the information collected through it. Its web team, Vamos Viral Media, builds and hosts the site for the restaurant as a service provider and receives messages on the restaurant's behalf.

What is collected, and when

Only when you submit the "Get in touch" form, and only these details:

The hashed address exists only to stop the form being flooded (five messages an hour per connection). It is a salted SHA-256 hash stored instead of the address itself and is not used to identify or profile anyone.

What it is used for

To answer your message. A message never adds you to a mailing list, and the restaurant does not send marketing texts.

Cookies, analytics and third parties

The site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts. Fonts, photos and video are served from this site itself.

Google Maps, only if you ask for it. Each location has a "Show map" button. If you press it, your browser loads Google Maps, and Google receives your IP address and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Google unless you press that button.

Links to other services. Order Online opens DoorDash, Reservations opens OpenTable, and the review and Directions links open Google and Yelp. Those services apply their own privacy policies once you arrive; this site sends them nothing about you.

We do not track visitors across sites, so we do not change anything in response to a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal: every visit is already treated that way.

Who else sees it

All of them act only on the restaurant's instructions.

How long it is kept

Messages are deleted automatically 24 months after they arrive. The anti-flood log is deleted automatically after an hour.

Your choices

To get a copy of what is held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email info@chochosanteppanyaki.com and we will delete what we hold about you. Making a request costs nothing and never changes how you are treated.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves.
